Dalemain Marmalade Awards

From 50 jars in 2005, the Awards have grown each year and in 2013, nearly 2,000 jars of marmalade were entered and judged.

Homemade Awards

The Amateur Category for home-made marmalades has grown from 60 jars to nearly 2,000 jars in 2013, posted to us from all over the World, including The British Virgin Islands, Japan, America, Canada, Spain, France, Gibraltar, Portugal, Denmark, Norway, Australia, New Zealand and Switzerland, Alaska, Austria and South Africa. Read more...

Artisan Awards

The Artisans’ Category is for commercial marmalade makers who use the traditional open-pan method. The numbers increase every year, and makers from all parts of the U.K. and Europe enter the competition. Like the Amateurs they too are awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze, as well as a Double Gold.  Read more...

B&B and Hotel Awards

The Bed & Breakfast and Hotel Category is for establishments who make their marmalades in their kitchens, and continues to raise standards of marmalades served to guests not only in this country but from abroad. Read more...

Marmalashes

2011 saw the first innings of ‘Marmalashes’, a closely fought marmalade contest held between Great Britain and Australia. Even with the helpful judging from our local MP, Rory Stewart, Australia still won. Again, in 2012, Australia won inspite of being captained by Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall so the British team is really going to have to step up to the mark in 2013. Read more...

2013 Award Winners

Our volunteers are very busy posting out mark cards for every entry received and certificates for all the winners in the home-made, Artisan and B&B and Hotel competitions, as well as our other contests including the Literary Competition, Label Competition, Marmalade Cat of the Year and Marmalashes. Everyone who entered will receive their scores etc soon. Because we received over 1500 home-made entries, we are only able to provide the Category Winners on the website, however you will each receive a mark card and if you won a Silver, Bronze or Commended you will also receive your certificate. Read more...
