Calling all Campanologists!A ‘Marmalade Peel of Bells’ will launch National Marmalade Week and will resound around the country starting with hand bells at Dalemain and ending with the Great Bell of Bow, of Oranges & Lemons nursery rhyme fame. National Marmalade Week, overseen by the awards’ organisers, encourages people to try, buy or make marmalade.

Dalemain Marmalade Awards
From 50 jars in 2005, the Awards have grown each year and in 2014, nearly 2,400 jars of marmalade were entered and judged from all around the World.
The awards set a standard which is recognised Internationally. Feedback on your marmalade, with every jar entered receiving a judges tasting card with comments and a certificate.
Double Gold, Gold, Silver & Bronze Award Winners will be advertised on the website and marmalade awarded a Double Gold will be offered the opportunity of being on sale at Fortnum & Mason.
Renaissance: The Awards is "THE" Awards for marmalade worldwide and has been attributed with the renaissance in marmalade manufacturing.

The Artisans’ Category is for commercial marmalade makers who use the traditional open-pan method. The numbers increase every year, and makers from all parts of the U.K. and Europe enter the competition. Like the Amateurs they too are awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze, as well as a Double Gold. 2011 saw the first innings of the ‘Marmalashes’, a closely fought marmalade contest held between Great Britain and Australia. Even with the helpful judging from our local MP, Rory Stewart, Australia won. Again, in 2012, Australia won inspite of being captained by Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall and again in 2013. It was only finally in 2014 that GB triumphed and took home the famous trophy. Read more...

Our volunteers are very busy posting out mark cards for every entry received and certificates for all the winners in the home-made, Artisan and B&B and Hotel competitions, as well as our other contests including the Literary Competition, Label Competition, Marmalade Cat of the Year and Marmalashes. Everyone who entered will receive their scores etc soon. Because we received over 1700 home-made entries, we are only able to provide the Category Winners on the website, however you will each receive a mark card and if you won a Silver, Bronze or Commended you will also receive your certificate.
